So Susan, are you willing to give this a try? Here's a step by step:
1. Logon to http://www.percdata.com/
2. Select "Edit account"
3. Copy/paste your serial number to a text file and save it somewhere
4. Blank out the serial number in percdata.com and save it
5. Force a net connect from the new Replay (assuming you still have the DNS set to the LaHo IP address) click here for more info
6. Change your zip code to any other zip code

Step 5 or 6 above should (hopefully) activate your unit, set the clock and download a channel guide. Once that's happened...

7. Logon to http://www.percdata.com/
8. Select "Edit account"
9. Replace the serial number with the one from step 3 above and save.

Now you're back to normal.

Now that I am back at work, my time is more limited. I will try this out when I get the time and energy again.

Thanks,
Susan

Susan wasn't crazy.. (well, she may be, but she wasn't wrong in this case).

LaHo prod was configured to not serve goodwill!

Around the time of Henry's death, Henry said he wanted to separate goodwill and prod and just use his test box for goodwill. I didn't see the point... LaHo Prod had the capacity, but didn't care how he directed folks.

I think he edited the "Goodwill" thread and changed the DNS setting to point to his test box. After Henry's death, I probably re-edited the file to point goodwill to laho-prod expecting the test box to go away (it actually hasn't yet). I didn't know he set a registry variable to deny goodwill.

So, all fixed! Thanks to Glenn for figuring it out.

The serial number hack will avoid goodwill, but goodwill should also work.

Robert

Well, it is true; I am crazy for other reasons, but so happy that my suspicions about Goodwill were confirmed in this case.

I will try out the drives in my unregistered machine once I regain energy (my work wipes me out).

Thanks!
Susan

I just tried the new drive that I left in place, and it activated. Yea!

I assume the others will be fine too, but will have to get to them later.

Thanks for fixing the server.

Susan
